The Opportunity:

Clarion’s Digital Marketing Division is the home of two market-leading brands Traffic & Conversion Summit & Affiliate Summit. This role will work across the portfolio and lead conference production on our market leading events. Affiliate Summit run the largest affiliate events in the world attracting thousands of advertisers, networks, agencies and affiliates from the US and around the globe.

The ideal candidate will have significant experience in commercial conference production. They will also have an interest in the digital marketing industry. This person is social, confident, and able to speak with high-profile speakers and c-level stakeholders. They are creative, organized, and keen to put these skills into place at industry-leading events around the world. The candidate will be passionate about diversity and inclusion. We’ve have been leading the way in the events world by setting representation quotas for each event and this role will play a key part in ensuring that our events and content program are inclusive.

Affiliate Summit runs twice a year on the East and West Coast (hello, NYC and Vegas). In 2023 we launched Creator Economy Live – the first and largest event to focus on influencer marketing for enterprise brands – alongside the West coast edition. Traffic & Conversion Summit is the biggest digital marketing conference in North America for entrepreneurs, we have a mind-blowing pedigree of speakers including Richard Branson, Lisa Vanderpump and Arnold Schwarzenegger. 

We don’t run your typical conference, so if you’re looking for a bunch of folks in grey suits, we might not be for you. We bring together SMEs, bloggers, Instagram influencers and the world’s largest ecommerce brands.  Our Vegas show sells out every year, and as EVERYBODY is now shopping online, we continue to grow at double digit rates. We are looking to expand our portfolio and take advantage of market opportunities in the US and beyond.

Key Responsibilities:

Industry Research & Insight

  • Developing strong market knowledge of the digital marketing industry and creator economy and building relationships with industry stakeholders, in the digital marketing and affiliate space.
  • Conducting and documenting regular customer research projects – ensuring that all research can be presented to the team to influence marketing, sales, operations and customer success strategies.
  • Using business intelligence, customer feedback and insights to suggest and implement new conference program ideas and assessing the success of the conference agenda.
  • Attending industry events for relationship building and market insight.
  • Continued learning about the marketing industry through event attendance, reading and listening to podcasts and webinars.

Event & Content Programming

  • Programming and content production for Affiliate Summit and T&C.
  • Creating tracks, building out topics and key learnings, based on customer research.
  • Developing new and innovative programming formats and ways of presenting content, to stay ahead of other events.
  • Creating compelling agenda sessions that fit with our tone of voice.
  • Curating award categories and judges for a new awards launch.  

Speaker Management

  • Recruiting and confirming high-profile speakers by using speaker outreach tactics and managing inbound applications.
  • Improving and updating programming guidelines and rules for submissions and partners.
  • Collaborating with speakers to develop their presentations, ensuring key takeaways are delivered.
  • Managing speakers and content tracks on site at events, ensuring the programme is delivered as planned.
  • Managing logistics with keynote speakers, ensuring contract terms are adhered to.

Digital Content

  • Implementing digital content on Affiliate Summit West and East in the lead up to the event.
  • Creating articles, webinars, blogs and roundtables that can be used to market events that are tied into the agenda and customer research.
  • Working closely with content marketing and co-ordinating digital content creation through freelancers and speakers – managing their deadlines.

People and Project Management

  • This role includes a direct report as well as 2 dotted line reports.
  • Collaborating with producers to create realistic timelines for production to ensure event commercial success.

Knowledge, Skills & Behaviour:

  • Demonstrable content production experience on commercial events.
  • Educated to degree level ideally in a research-based subject or have equivalent experience.
  • An interest in the digital marketing industry is essential.
  • Excellent and proactive communicator – great verbal and written communications skills that can translate content strategies in a simple way to a range of stakeholders and team members. We are a global business, and your colleagues are often not in the same physical location so this is a must!
  • Be a critical thinker with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work flexibly and travel where necessary as our events may require either calls in other time zones.
  • Be extremely organized; our events can have up to 100 speakers.
  • Strong multitasker – able to successfully reach multiple deadlines at once.
  • Experience working in international markets.
  • The ability to write and edit copy.
  • Project management.
  • Management experience desirable but not essential.
