Senior Consultant Architectural Designer

Wood is currently recruiting for architectural designers at Senior Consultant level, to join our Birmingham, Leamington Spa or London offices.

This is a chance to join an established design team within our multi-disciplinary Built Environment consultancy.  Your work will be with a mixture of private and public sector clients, leading and delivering design-led projects and supporting in the growth of our business through a combination of excellent project delivery, building client relationships and supporting other business winning activities.  Projects vary from feasibility and assessment studies to pre and post contract design delivery. 

You will have a proven track record in the built environment sector ideally with knowledge or expertise gained in residential, educational or defence sectors.  You will manage projects that are often high profile and challenging, requiring both breadth of vision and a full appreciation of the project lifecycle, with the drive and enthusiasm to become immediately involved with complex projects as part of a successful, delivery focused team.  Ideally you will have experience in both strategic masterplanning and building design.  Your role will be delivery focused and will include customer engagement, scoping and preparation of project proposals, defining client needs and matching resources to technical requirements; project and task management.

• Qualified to at least degree level (or equivalent) in Architecture
• A member of an appropriate Professional Body  
• Experienced in the residential and/or education sector
• From a consultancy background
• Able to demonstrate experience of excellent client facing skills
• Able to employ a range of high level written and illustrative skills and to produce print-ready reports and proposals
• Experienced in working on own initiative and as part of an established team
