We are looking for a Senior Content Optimization Manager to lead our SEO, GEO/AEO (Generative Engine Optimization), and content performance strategy. This isn’t a traditional marketing SEO role; it requires a technical approach to understand complex articles and developer workflows, and strong data analysis skills.
You will be joining the Developer Content Programs team. We produce, manage, and amplify high-quality technical content across our 3 Labs: Elasticsearch Labs, Observability Labs, and Security Labs. We also own the Elastic Dev X account and the Community YouTube channel. Our goal is to provide genuine technical value to practitioners (devs, SREs, and SOC analysts) by delivering content that is deep, accurate, and helpful. It will be your job to optimize the Labs content and make sure it's discoverable (whether on google or in LLMs like ChatGPT and Gemini), and then measure its performance and implement any insights.
You'll partner closely with our core team, as well as all of the engineers writing content and the broader PMM, SEO/GEO and content strategy teams at Elastic.
If you're a strategic problem solver, seasoned SEO specialist, data lover and gifted communicator - we’d love to meet you.
What You Will Be Doing :
Content optimization: You will manage the end-to-end optimization and performance tracking of approximately 80 articles a month across our three Labs. This includes optimizing ~40 articles pre-publication to select the optimal title, URL and internal headings based on keyword and prompt data. This will be followed by round II revisions three months post publication to analyze performance and refine the articles based on actual user queries and behavior.
Advanced analytics & reporting: Be responsible for the monthly analytics reports, synthesizing insights from multiple dashboards (GSC, GA4 / LookerStudio, Profound, Semrush AIO, Tableau, FullStory, etc). You will also track and optimize the performance of our CTAs and Autolinksto ensure our technical content effectively guides developers to the next step in their journey.
GEO & AI discovery experiments: Lead innovative experiments to determine what helps Elastic's content show up more frequently in LLMs. You will own our current LLM experiments on 3rd party platforms (like Medium) and develop data-backed strategies to ensure our Labs are cited as the primary "source of truth" by AI agents. You'll partner closely with our GEO program leader on this.
Competitor research & analysis: Perform regular competitor gap analysis to identify technical topics where Elastic can lead.
Content ideation & brainstorms: You will work closely with our team's technical lead and multi-functional contributors to inform our writing roadmap, using search volume, trending developer interests, and AI "share of voice" data to prioritize work.
Site health & infrastructure: Coordinate with Web and Design teams to resolve technical SEO/GEO issues like 404s and broken links, and continuously optimize our site based on the latest research, ensuring our technical ecosystem remains a high-performant environment for discovery.
Newsletter strategy & growth: Be responsible for our monthly Labs newsletters and the Developer Community newsletter. You will write the newsletters and analyze their performance to determine which technical topics resonate most and optimize distribution to increase community engagement.
What You Bring :
5+ years of experience: A proven track record in technical content strategy, SEO and data-heavy digital optimization within the high-tech sector.
Data orientation: You love numbers. Advanced proficiency with Excel/Sheets, GA4, Google Search Console, SEMrush / Ahrefs, and LLM-tracking platforms (e.g., Profound). You live for finding the "why" behind the data.
Tech savvy: You can read a technical blog about vector search or eBPF and understand it, identify the important keywords and relevant prompts and rewrite it well. You have a willingness to learn about the technology behind all 3 of our solutions: Search, Observability and Security.
Deep understanding of B2B or developer-focused search ecosystems; experience with documentation-heavy or technical content is a plus.
Native-level proficiency in English, both spoken and written, and extensive experience editing content (grammar + flow).
Proven ability to drive cross-functional alignment and comfortable working in a fully distributed global organization.
Bonus Points :
Experience with LLM optimization, retrieval systems, semantic search, or vector-based information architecture.
SEMrush certification, Screaming Frog (web crawler) experience, or a portfolio of technical content.
Experience working with developer tools, AI/ML products, or open-source ecosystems.
