Senior Contract Surveyor (Steel/Structures)

We’re seeking an experienced Senior Contract Surveyor to manage the commercial and contractual aspects of steel and structural packages on a major development. This role is suited for a commercially astute professional with a strong background in structural works, procurement, and cost management. If you have a deep understanding of steel structures and thrive on delivering accurate financial management and effective contract administration, this is an excellent opportunity to take the lead on a major construction project.

Client Overview Our client is a recognised construction organisation, noted for delivering complex, large-scale structural engineering projects with a focus on quality and precision.
Responsibilities
Lead all commercial management for steel and structural packages
Prepare, negotiate, and manage subcontract agreements and procurement processes
Monitor and report on project costs, cash flow, and financial performance
Identify commercial risks and implement effective mitigation strategies
Liaise with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure alignment on objectives
Manage valuations, variations, and final account settlements in line with contract obligations
Ensure compliance with relevant standards, contract conditions and best practicesMust-have Requirements
Proven experience as a Quantity/Contract Surveyor in steel or structural works
Strong working knowledge of NEC and/or JCT contracts
Excellent negotiation, analytical and reporting skills
Ability to manage complex packages within agreed budgets and timescales
