The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Senior Contracts Manager to join a successful and growing Civil Engineering business, leading the delivery of multiple projects across the North West.
Reporting directly to the Operations Director, you will take overall responsibility for a portfolio of civils and infrastructure projects, ensuring they are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
This is an excellent opportunity for an established Senior Contracts Manager, Contracts Manager, or Operations Manager with a strong background in civil engineering, groundworks, land remediation, highways, infrastructure, or public realm projects.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
Take overall responsibility for multiple live civils projects. Lead and support Contracts Managers, Site Managers and project delivery teams. Monitor performance across programme, quality, safety and cost objectives. Conduct regular site visits to support teams and maintain delivery standards. Ensure timely and accurate project reporting to senior leadership.Client & Stakeholder Management
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants and key stakeholders. Ensure client expectations are consistently exceeded. Act as a key point of contact throughout project lifecycles. Drive customer satisfaction and repeat business opportunities.Health, Safety & Environmental Management
Champion a strong health, safety and environmental culture across all projects. Ensure Construction Phase Plans are implemented and maintained. Carry out audits, inspections and compliance reviews. Drive continuous improvement initiatives and best practice across project teams. Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and industry standards.Planning & Pre-Construction
Oversee project programmes from tender stage through to completion. Support pre-construction teams with buildability, logistics and risk assessments. Monitor project progress and implement corrective actions where required. Manage key supply chain and consultant relationships.Commercial & Risk Management
Maintain strong commercial and contractual control across all projects. Monitor budgets, project performance and profitability. Support the achievement of business unit financial targets.Leadership & Team Development
Lead, mentor and develop Contracts Managers and delivery teams. Support recruitment, succession planning and talent development.About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Proven experience managing multiple civil engineering contracts simultaneously. Strong technical knowledge of civils, infrastructure, remediation or groundworks projects. Excellent leadership and people management skills. Strong commercial and contractual awareness. Experience managing project teams through the full project lifecycle. Ability to proactively identify and resolve project challenges.Benefits
