Roles and Responsibilities
Technical Architecture & Design Leadership: Provide technical leadership in the design, implementation, and optimisation of core SCS systems and architecture.
Advanced Technical Project Execution: Drive and execute complex technical investigations and problem-solving for critical SCS issues. Provide advanced technical expertise to ensure project deliverables are met on time, within budget, and to required quality standards. Continue leading and managing technically complex projects.
Cross-function Technical Collaboration: Maintain close alignment and collaboration with protection, design, and other functional teams to ensure seamless system integration, technical consistency, and interoperability across projects.
Customer Focus: Act as a primary technical point of contact for complex projects, representing the team in technical meetings with customers to validate solutions, resolve intricate technical issues, and ensure customer satisfaction.
Quality Assurance: Review and approve technical documentation, ensuring compliance with internal processes and customer expectations.
Mentorship & Development: Support the development of junior engineers through coaching, on-the-job training, and knowledge sharing.
Resource Management: support the Engineering Manager in resource allocation and recruitment planning.
Standardisation & Best Practices: Contribute to the development and implementation of standard designs, tools, methodologies, and technical templates to drive efficiency, consistency, and innovation within SCS engineering practices.
Required Qualifications
Educational Background: BSc. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
Experience: Over fifteen years of control system-related experience.
Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of SCADA communication protocols, Windows OS, Microsoft Office, and database applications.
Design Expertise: Proficient in designing, programming, and troubleshooting complex electrical control systems, including SCADA/HMI, cybersecurity, advanced network equipment, IEC61850, and Firewalls.
GE Vernova Substation Automation Solutions: Proven expert knowledge in GE Vernova Substation Automation Solutions is highly preferred.
Travel: Ability to travel locally and globally, with a valid driver’s license.
Desired Characteristics
Automation and Control Systems: In-depth knowledge of automation electrical control systems, SCADA/DCS systems, and networking communication protocols.
Interpersonal and Problem-Solving Skills: Exceptional interpersonal, problem-solving, and organisational skills, with the ability to tackle highly complex technical issues.
