Job description

This is a great opportunity to join the Theory Test Service Team that supports delivery of the agencys strategy;

Helping you stay safe on Britains Roads .

The Senior Data Analyst will work effectively within a geographically dispersed team; owning the day-to-day delivery of robust, timely and insightful MI and reporting that enables key stakeholders to make informed decisions based on sound evidence and recommendations.

The post holder will be responsible for managing an analyst in designing, developing and delivering high quality data, information reports and visualisations to key business stakeholders within the Theory Test Service.
You will:
Ensure the production of new, regular and ad-hoc MI reports, owning the relevant datasets and model(s) and the process for developing and maintaining them.
Establish requirements to identify the who, what and why.
Provide information and statistical expertise to the business to support both business as usual, continuous improvement and project work.
Challenge where necessary and make recommendations.
Communicate with stakeholders at various levels, tailoring communication styles and methods accordingly.

Additional Information
This role can be based in Bristol, Swansea, Nottingham, Newcastle, Oldham or Birmingham. Your presence at one of these locations will form part of the working arrangements agreed with you. We operate a hybrid working model giving you greater flexibility about where and when you work. Our expectation is that you will spend a minimum 60% of your time at your base location. Visits to other DVSA sites or work locations count towards this.
Person specification

To thrive in this role, you will:
have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
be experienced in creating reports that allow you to present recommendations to stakeholders.
have strong communication skills and the ability to adapt your style to specific audiences.
have good attention to detail and take pride in producing work to a high standard.
There may be an element of travel associated with this role to other DVSA offices, with some infrequent overnight stays.
