Senior data migration lead/technical analyst

Binary10 are recruiting for a Senior Data Migration Technical Analysts / Data Migration Lead.

The successful applicant will be able to fit seamlessly into the role of Lead DM Technical Analyst, and also to be able to advance to the role of Data Migration Lead once fully up to speed with the Binary10 Methodology.

Prior experience of several large-scale Data Migration projects is essential.

We will provide training to build on your core skills to enable you to grow into the role of a Binary10 Senior DM Technical Analyst and Data Migration Lead.

As a Senior DM Technical Analyst, you will need to have the technical capability to Extract, Transform and Load data using pre-defined methodologies and tool sets.

You will gain the chance to work with our experienced senior consultants and Directors to carry out Data Migration projects using the Binary10 methodology.

You will need to demonstrate the ability to lead technical teams reporting to you.

In addition to your technical skills, you will need to demonstrate strong analysis skills and the ability to liaise with our clients to identify data cleansing tasks and determine field mapping rules.

As a DM Lead, you will need to demonstrate experience of leading IT projects, liaising with stakeholders and senior businesspeople.

You will need to manage project timelines & resources and be the main point of contact with the client on a day-to-day basis.

Knowledge of general business processes and system data structures will be of great benefit to the role.

Main Responsibilities

·

Gain a full understanding of the project's data scope including the detailed scope of all the data process areas.

·

Develop the DM plan to include DM cycles, resourcing and timelines.

Liaise with System Implementation Consultants and the client to ensure the DM plan dovetails perfectly with the overall project plan.

·

Maintain the DM plan throughout the project, and assign tasks to the core DM Team ·

Manage or develop extraction processes from legacy systems, to provide access to raw legacy data.

·

Discuss known data issues with clients ·

Manage or carry out data analysis to identify gaps, potential issues and quantify these, alongside the known data issues.

·

Manage or develop Data Quality reporting tools to Binary10 standards, to aid users in identifying and resolving legacy data issues.

·

Liaise with external System Implementation Consultants to understand how data is imported into the new system for each data entity, including any dependencies or constraints, and how the data needs to be linked to system configuration.

·

Lead mapping sessions with clients to identify how legacy data needs to be transformed to fit the new system ·

Document to Binary10 standards any data issues, gaps, mappings, required business rules and risks.

Validate documentation with stakeholders and key users.

·

Manage or develop T-Sql transformation code to Binary10 standards ·

Manage the export of “target” data to required format for loading to new system ·

Manage the import of transformed data to new system, and resolve load errors ·

Manage the export of newly imported data to ensure the imports have met expectations ·

Manage the provision of data extracts as required to users to aid reconciliation/testing ·

Manage the setup/refresh of legacy system clones for extraction/reconciliation purposes ·

Manage the sign-off of key documentation by the clients ·

Manage the setup/refresh of Data Migration instances of the target system ·

Manage the data reconciliation activity to be carried out by the client ·

Provide detailed input regarding Data Migration into Testing phase activity to be undertaken by the client ·

Manage the investigation and resolution of any reconciliation issues or testing bugs related to the data ·

Provide detailed input regarding Data Migration into Cutover planning activities ·

Manage the production of an end-of-project Audit Pack Skills and Experience Essential Skills, Technologies & Experience: ·

Microsoft SQL Server (2017 and later) ·

SSMS ·

Relational Database DDL and DML ·

Advanced T-SQL programming skills ·

T-SQL Performance tuning ·

Excellent communicator with extensive client-facing skills and experience ·

Experience of working on at least 3 data migration projects ·
