Senior Design Engineer Role - Biggin Hill - Permanent

Are you an experienced Design Engineer with a passion for aviation, innovation, and high-end cabin interiors? We're looking for a multi-skilled Senior Design Engineer to join our dynamic team and play a key role in designing and delivering cabin modifications for commercial, VVIP, and rotary aircraft.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work on cutting-edge interior modification projects everything from layout redesigns to environmental system upgrades all under a UK CAA Part 21J Design Organisation Approval (DOA). ?? What You'll Be Doing:
As a Senior Design Engineer, you'll be creating detailed design solutions for aircraft cabin interior modifications, including:

Designing new Layouts of Passenger Accommodation (LOPA) and integrating changes such as PSUs, emergency equipment, and seating.

Engineering installations for galleys, monuments, lavatories, dividers, and crew rest stations.

Modifying air conditioning, water/waste, and environmental systems.

Supporting livery changes, emergency marking layouts, and system upgrades.

Creating and managing 3D CAD models, 2D drawings, BOMs, and compliance documentation to support CAA approval.

Collaborating closely with project managers, production teams, and customers to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.

Attending on-site aircraft surveys and providing installation support in the UK and overseas.

Producing substantiation reports, service bulletins, testing plans, and documentation for continued airworthiness.

? What We're Looking For:
Qualifications & Experience:

HNC/HND or degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.

10+ years experience in aircraft interiors, structural/mechanical design.

Recent or current experience within an EASA or CAA Part 21J Design Organisation.

Proven expertise with Inventor and AutoCAD.

Solid understanding of aircraft materials, fasteners, fabrication, and airworthiness documentation.

Working knowledge of regulatory standards: CS-25, CS-29, EASA Part 21, FAA CFR 25, (E)TSO, etc.

Technical Skills:

Knowledge of primary and secondary aircraft structures.

Strong grasp of aircraft certification, compliance, and documentation.

Capable of managing multiple complex projects independently.
