We are looking for a

Senior Developer

to be responsible for designing and implementing high quality software in line with established policies and practices.

You will be accountable some or all of the following:
Writing high quality, readable and well tested code
Building and maintaining complex systems
Maintaining documentation, sharing knowledge and best practice throughout the team and wider organisation
Supporting the architecture function in designing performant and resilient products
Assists in the evaluation of options and trade-offs for implementing requirements.
Participate in estimation and planning work with an adaptive (iterative/agile) approach.
Transforming business concepts into technical specifications clearly and concisely
Collaborate in reviews of work with others as appropriate to validate quality.
Staying up to date with the latest tech innovations and evaluate their value.
Maintaining our systems out of hours
To be successful in this role you will require the following…
Extensive experience writing code using a modern language using technology such as Java Python, or JavaScript
Experience using AWS Technologies such as EC2, Lambda, Fargate, ECS, CDK etc.
Experience using RDBMS and NoSQL Technologies
Experience of working with Microservices, Infrastructure as Code.
Experience of building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
Experience of working with test driven development and applying good software engineering principles.
Knowledge of design patterns, SOLID principles, and best practices for software development.
Experience in mentoring and instructing individuals on development and delivery disciplines.
Good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present technical details to a non-technical audience.
A self-starter who can deliver high quality work and adapt to new challenges, both on their own and as part of a wider team.
Experience of Agile software development
Experience writing technical documentation such as LLDs, user guides, release notes etc.
