Senior Developer - AI-Enhanced Web Stack (Hybrid)

Mydigitalnomads is a global collective that connects businesses with top-tier talent. We are assisting a client with recruitment for this role which will be a UK Direct hire with Hybrid working (3/4 days in Office - Cheshire, Near Northwich).

Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Developer who is passionate about leveraging AI to enhance development workflows and drive technical excellence. While we ideally want a full-stack developer, we'll consider strong frontend or backend specialists who demonstrate a genuine thirst for knowledge and willingness to expand their skill set.

This is a hybrid position (3-4 days in office, 1-2 days remote) perfect for a seasoned developer who wants to lead technical initiatives, mentor junior team members, and shape our AI-enhanced development practices. You'll be working with modern tools like Cursor, GitHub Copilot, and ChatGPT while building sophisticated web applications across multiple brands.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership & Development

• Lead full-stack development projects using PHP, HTML/CSS, Tailwind, JavaScript, and modern frameworks
• Architect and implement scalable solutions for user-facing and internal tools across multiple brands
• Drive adoption of AI development tools (Cursor, Copilot, ChatGPT) to optimize team productivity and code quality
• Conduct thorough code reviews and establish development best practices
• Make technical decisions on architecture, tooling, and development workflows

Mentorship & Team Growth

• Mentor junior developers and support their technical growth
• Lead technical discussions and knowledge-sharing sessions
• Champion best practices in code documentation, testing, and version control
• Foster a culture of continuous learning and innovation

Strategic Collaboration

• Work closely with product owners and stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions
• Collaborate with designers and marketers to deliver exceptional user experiences
• Contribute to technical roadmap planning and feature prioritization
• Drive delivery momentum while maintaining high code quality standards

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of professional web development experience
• Strong expertise in either:
  • Full-stack: Proficiency in both frontend and backend technologies
  • Frontend focus: Expert-level JavaScript, modern frameworks (React, Vue), CSS/Tailwind
  • Backend focus: Advanced PHP, database design, API development
• Proven experience with AI-enhanced development tools and workflows
• Leadership experience: Code reviews, mentoring, or technical decision-making
• Strong architectural thinking and ability to design scalable solutions
• Excellent communication skills and collaborative approach
• Growth mindset with eagerness to expand knowledge across the full stack
• Right and ability to work in-office 3-4 days per week (Car needed due to remote location)

Highly Desirable Experience

• Laravel framework and modern PHP practices
• MySQL/database optimization and query performance
• Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices
• React or Vue.js for modern frontend development
• API design and integration (REST, GraphQL)
• Testing frameworks and automated testing practices
• Cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure)
