are seeking a highly skilled Senior Developer with extensive experience in ETL/ELT processes, data warehousing/business intelligence methodologies, and best practices. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in handling big data, cloud technologies, and unstructured data, along with a deep understanding of star schema structure and hybrid data warehouse design.
As a Developer your key responsibilities will be:
Design, develop, and maintain robust ETL/ELT processes and data pipelines.
Implement data warehousing solutions using Kimball and Inmon methodologies.
Develop and manage cloud-based data solutions using Azure services such as Data Factory, Event Hubs, Data Lake, Synapse, and Azure SQL Server.
Create and optimize data processing workflows in Databricks using PySpark and Spark SQL.
Ensure ETL coding standards are met, including self-documenting code and reliable testing.
Apply best practice data encryption techniques and standards to ensure data security.
Stay current with relevant national and international legislation (e.g., Data Protection Act, EU Procurement Directives, Freedom of Information Act) and ensure compliance.
Explore and integrate emerging technologies to enhance data solutions.
Support the Data and Analytics development lifecycle in an agile scrum environment.
Design and implement complex data and analytics solutions for large enterprise data warehouse implementations.
Deliver data and analytics applications that automate business processes and meet performance, availability, scalability, security, and integrity requirements.
As a Developer you will have the following experience:
Detailed working knowledge of ETL/ELT processes, data warehousing/business intelligence methodologies, and best practices.
Expertise in handling big data, cloud technology, and unstructured data.
Proficient in star schema structure & design, with a thorough understanding of Kimball, Inmon, and hybrid data warehouse design.
Extensive experience with Azure data products including Data Factory, Event Hubs, Data Lake, Synapse, and Azure SQL Server.
Proficient in developing with Databricks, PySpark, and Spark SQL.
Strong understanding of ETL coding standards, including standardized, self-documenting code and reliable testing.
Knowledge of data encryption techniques and standards.
Familiarity with national and international legislation related to Government/Public Sector IT.
Keen interest in the latest and emerging technologies in data and analytics.
Experience with tooling and technology supporting the Data and Analytics development lifecycle in an agile environment.
Proven experience in designing and developing complex data and analytics solutions for large enterprise business/data warehouse implementations.
Proven track record in delivering data and analytics solutions that automate business processes and meet quality characteristics such as performance, availability, scalability, security, and integrity.
