Overview of the role

Due to continued growth, our Nuclear, Defence and Civil division is recruiting a Senior Document Controller to support our technical delivery teams across a diverse portfolio of projects within the Energy sector, varying in scale and complexity.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Document Controller with a willingness to develop across all aspects of document management, while also supporting broader project administration activities and potentially managing a small team.

In this role, you will work independently using web-based document management platforms, maintaining accurate records and applying template-driven document control processes on large-scale projects.

As a Senior Document Controller, you will be responsible for managing and controlling all project documentation from internal teams and external partners. This is a key role in ensuring that teams consistently use the latest document versions, enabling accurate, efficient, and timely project delivery to our clients.

  • Administer the project Common Data Environment (CDE)

  • Provide training to project teams on the use of the CDE

  • Develop and maintain training materials for end users

  • Deliver system support to project stakeholders

  • Produce reports on user accounts and system usage

  • Support the Information Management Lead in testing systems for project production environments

  • Assist with data and document migration activities

  • Ensure a 24-hour turnaround for access requests is achieved and maintained

Essential:

  • Experience delivering projects in line with ISO 19650 processes

  • Knowledge of AEC content management systems such as SharePoint, Business Collaborator, or ProjectWise

  • Familiarity with BIM toolsets from key vendors (e.g. Autodesk, Bentley, Aveva)

  • Experience working on large and complex projects

  • Demonstrable professional experience in a similar role

  • Strong IT literacy, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PDF documentation, along with good keyboard skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Confidence engaging with and presenting to stakeholders

  • A commitment to continuous professional development
