My Client, a specialist UK- based consultancy with expertise in Hydrology, Hydrogeology and software development, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Flood Risk and Drainage Engineer to join their team in Shrewsbury. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a dedicated team of professionals on a variety of projects for private sector clients, local authorities, and housing developers.

As a Senior Flood Risk and Drainage Engineer, you will be expected to:

• Prepare Flood Risk Assessments for planning applications.
• Develop drainage strategies and design drainage solutions using MicroDrainage software for pre-planning projects.
• Design sustainable drainage systems (SuDS), including soakaways and lagoons.
• Collaborate with clients, local authorities, and housing developers to deliver high-quality solutions.
• GIS Mapping and Hydraulic Modelling.
• Participate in training courses to enhance your technical expertise and professional development.

As a Senior Flood Risk and Drainage Engineer you will be expected to have;

• An MSc and/or BSc in a relevant discipline such as Environmental Management, Hydrology, or Civil Engineering.
• Proven experience working for a UK-based consultancy or local authority, with a focus on Flood Risk Assessments, Drainage Strategies, and Drainage Design using Causeway Flow or Infodrainage.
• Proficiency in designing drainage solutions, including soakaways and lagoons, is highly desirable.
  -GIS Mapping.
• A keen interest in software development and modelling.
