About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior EC&I Engineer to join a major nuclear project based in Cumbria. This role offers the opportunity to lead detailed Electrical, Control & Instrumentation (EC&I) engineering activities within a highly regulated environment, supporting the successful delivery of critical project objectives.
As a senior member of the engineering team, you will provide technical leadership, mentor junior engineers, and ensure engineering deliverables are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Lead detailed EC&I design and execution support activities. Provide technical leadership, mentoring and guidance to junior engineers. Deliver engineering scope in line with agreed cost, quality and schedule requirements. Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary engineering and project delivery teams. Act as an experienced checker for engineering outputs where appropriately SQEP. Ensure compliance with relevant industry, regulatory and project standards. Support project planning, technical reviews and stakeholder engagement activities as required.
Essential Experience
Candidates must have significant experience delivering CE&I engineering solutions within the nuclear sector, including knowledge and experience in several of the following areas:
Electrical distribution systems in accordance with BS 7671. UPS systems, motor drives and small power systems. Mechanical handling systems and/or cranes. Process instrumentation systems. CE&I safety systems designed to BS EN 61508 and/or Sellafield Engineering Standards (ES 2100). Previous experience delivering engineering projects for Sellafield Ltd.
Desirable Experience
The following experience would be advantageous:
Front-end project definition and development activities. Previous experience working on Sellafield projects. CE/UKCA Machinery Marking and Machinery Safety. Radiometric and specialist instrumentation. Protective security systems including CCTV, access control and intruder detection systems. Programmable Electronic Systems (PES) and SCADA systems.
