Are you an experienced Electrical Design Engineer looking to work on technically challenging projects where your designs have a real-world impact?
I'm working with an established organisation in the UK defence engineering sector that's looking to strengthen its electrical engineering team in Bedfordshire.
This is an opportunity to get involved in the design and development of complex electrical systems, working across the full engineering lifecycle, from initial concepts and requirements through to detailed design, integration and testing.
You'll be joining a collaborative engineering environment where practical problem-solving, technical expertise and attention to detail are genuinely valued.
What you'll be doing
*
Designing and developing electrical systems and subsystems for complex engineering applications.
*
Producing electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and detailed design documentation.
*
Supporting low- and high-power DC electrical systems, power distribution and circuit protection.
*
Developing and reviewing technical requirements, design specifications and engineering solutions.
*
Supporting system integration, verification, validation and testing activities.
*
Investigating electrical faults and resolving technical challenges during development.
*
Working closely with mechanical, electronics, systems and manufacturing engineers.
*
Producing technical reports and supporting design reviews.
We're keen to speak with Electrical Design Engineers who have experience developing complex electrical systems within a structured engineering environment.
Ideally, you'll have:
*
A degree, HND or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
*
Strong practical experience in electrical design and development.
*
Experience producing electrical schematics and technical drawings.
*
Knowledge of power distribution, DC systems, electrical protection and associated components.
*
Experience with electrical CAD or schematic design tools.
*
An understanding of electrical integration, testing and fault-finding.
*
Experience working with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
*
Strong technical documentation and problem-solving skills.
Experience within defence, aerospace, automotive, rail or other highly regulated engineering environments would be beneficial, although a defence background isn't essential.
Why consider this opportunity?
*
Work on complex, technically interesting engineering programmes.
*
Be involved throughout the engineering lifecycle rather than just one stage of design.
*
Collaborate with experienced engineers across multiple disciplines.
*
Join an established engineering organisation offering long-term career development.
*
Contribute to projects where engineering quality, reliability and performance really matter.
