Senior Electrical Engineer

📍 Location: Reading (Client site) / hybrid

🔒 Security Clearance Required: SC & Sole UK National – DV preferred

We are looking for Two Senior Electrical Engineers to  join a high-priority explosives manufacturing facility project near Reading.

You’ll play a vital role in resolving critical ATEX-related shortfalls after a detailed inspection

You will need to tackle two key areas:  

🔌 Installation Shortfalls:  Components not installed in the correct ATEX zones, cable segregation issues, overloaded junction boxes, etc.

📂 Documentation Shortfalls:  Missing or outdated ATEX records such as: Design Substantiation Docs, Verification Dossiers, Superseded ATEX Registers. etc

Your Missions:

 📋 Review and compare current documentation with as-built installations

🧑‍🔧 Conduct physical inspections as needed

📝 Generate baseline shortfall reports

🛠️ Update critical documents (ATEX Registers, Dossiers, Reports)

✏️ Propose new designs and specify ATEX-compliant components

 Candidate Profile (Skills, Experience & Qualifications):

✅ 5+ years experience  in Electrical Design & Installation within a Nuclear, Defence or highly regulated environment.

⚠️ Strong ATEX experience required

 📚Experience with ATEX Registers, Dossiers, Reports, GA & Hazardous Area Drawings

Hybrid working - 2 days/week at Client site near Reading

**Security Clearance**

This role requires the successful candidate to hold (or be able to obtain) a minimum of a Security Check (SC) clearance without any caveats to that clearance. DV Clearance is preferred.



Due to the nature of work this role will be delivering and for the protection of certain assets, the successful candidate has to be a sole UK national
