Senior Electrical Project Manager – Major MEP Projects

An established and highly respected building services contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Electrical Project Manager to join its Leeds team.

This is an opportunity to take ownership of major electrical and MEP schemes across Yorkshire and the wider region, delivering technically challenging projects valued in the multi-million-pound range. The role is ideal for an accomplished Project Manager looking to step into a more senior position without moving into people management.

You’ll be trusted to lead projects from pre-construction through to final handover, while acting as a mentor and source of technical guidance for less experienced project staff.

The Role

You will have full responsibility for the successful delivery of large-scale electrical projects, ensuring they are completed safely, on programme, within budget and to the highest quality standards.

Working closely with clients, consultants, subcontractors and internal delivery teams, you’ll oversee every stage of the project lifecycle while maintaining strong commercial awareness and excellent client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

* Deliver multi-million-pound electrical and MEP projects from inception to completion.

* Lead project planning, programming and resource management.

* Manage client relationships and attend regular project meetings.

* Coordinate design development and technical delivery with internal and external stakeholders.

* Work closely with commercial teams to monitor budgets, variations and project performance.

* Manage subcontractors and site teams to ensure safe and efficient delivery.

* Ensure compliance with all health & safety, quality and statutory requirements.

* Identify project risks and implement effective mitigation strategies.

* Support and mentor junior Project Managers, Engineers and Supervisors, sharing knowledge and best practice.

* Maintain high standards of customer service and develop long-term client relationships.

About You

We’re looking for an experienced Electrical Project Manager with a successful track record of delivering major building services projects.

You’ll ideally have:

* Significant experience managing large-scale electrical or MEP installations.

* Strong knowledge of commercial building services projects.

* Excellent client-facing and stakeholder management skills.

* Strong commercial awareness and financial control experience.

* A proactive and solutions-focused approach.

* Excellent planning and organisational skills.

* The ability to lead project teams while influencing others through experience rather than direct line management.

* Relevant industry qualifications in Electrical Engineering or Building Services (HNC/HND/Degree preferred).

* SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid qualifications are advantageous.
