Job Description - Senior Electronics and Electrical Maintenance Engineer role
Role – Senior Electronics and Electrical Maintenance Engineer Location – Based close to Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk Working hours – Monday to Friday – Day shift Salary – Up to £52,000 Per annum Capacity of role – Permanent position
Our client is currently looking for a senior team member to support their maintenance function. Applicants will have worked in a role of this calibre previously and will and have the persona to lead, motivate and develop a team of individuals.
Main duties will include – • To drive and lead projects. • Programming of PLC’s, upgrading control panels for automated systems and HMI’s. • To assist the Department Head in providing maintenance support for all departments within the group. • To assist production when necessary to maintain production output. • Prompt attendance to machinery failures / breakdowns which will include fault finding on electronic and electrical systems and repair. • All Planned maintenance tasks to ensure optimal production availability. • Programming of PLC’s and upgrading control panels for automated systems • To diagnose faults and repair Equipment. • To complete and update tasks using a Maintenance based software. • To provide assistance to Service Engineers / Contractors as and when required. • To generate ideas for improvement in the Maintenance Department. • Fault-finding, repair, and improving of all aspects of control systems. • Installing new equipment and electronic control systems. • Replacement of outdated control systems to achieve company-wide consistency , flexibility and reliability. • Assist departments with fault-finding on their machines using various PLC software and test equipment. • Ensure all departments are maintained to high standards, ensuring compliance to insurance, regulations and safety Audits. • Continuous Improvement activities, spotting areas of the site and manufacturing to improve ,creating solutions and implementation including project based work. • To investigate and where possible offer suggestions for system improvements and/or cost reductions. • Knowledge of variable frequency speed controllers, inverters and vibrations feed controllers.
Candidate attributes - • Proficient in PLC programming, introducing updates, past experiences using Allen Bradley and Mitsubishi machines would be beneficial. • Experience in supporting a fast paced production environment. • At least 5-10 years’ experience of working in a production support role • Very good electronic and electrical aptitude and be able to diagnose machine faults. • Extensive knowledge of various electrical control systems, instrumentation and PLC’s
