Job Description - Senior Electronics Engineer

Job Title: Senior Electronics Engineer
Location: East Kent (Onsite)
Type: Permanent
Salary: £60,000 DOE

Overview: We’re working with a leading engineering company based in East Kent who are looking to hire an experienced Hardware Design Engineer to join their onsite R&D team. The role involves designing robust, high-performance electronic systems used in innovative and technically demanding applications.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop analogue and digital electronics, including sensor interfaces, power regulation, and signal conditioning.
  • Create schematics and PCB layouts, ensuring designs meet EMC, thermal, and mechanical requirements.
  • Support prototype bring-up, board testing, and debugging using lab tools (oscilloscopes, logic analysers, etc.).
  • Collaborate with embedded software, mechanical, and systems engineers throughout the full development lifecycle.
  • Ensure documentation, design reviews, and verification activities align with industry and regulatory standards.
  • Participate in DFM/DFA, supplier liaison, and transfer to manufacture.
Essential Experience & Skills:
  • Proven experience in electronics design for embedded or high-reliability systems.
  • Strong skills in schematic capture and multi-layer PCB layout (e.g., Altium, KiCad, or similar).
  • Comfortable with mixed-signal design, power supplies, and microcontroller-based systems.
  • Experience with EMC compliance, testing, and fault-finding.
  • Ability to work hands-on in the lab, taking designs from concept through to production.

Desirable:
  • Knowledge of FPGA/CPLD integration, high-speed digital design, or RF experience.
  • Familiarity with design for safety-critical or regulated environments (e.g., aerospace, medtech).
  • Understanding of thermal analysis, signal integrity, or low-noise analog design.
