I am working with a highly regarded, Legal 500 ranked law firm that is seeking to appoint an experienced Senior Employment Solicitor to join its Employment Law team.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a well-established practice that acts for national trade unions, senior executives, employees, and employers, and is recognised for its strength in both contentious and non-contentious employment law matters.

The Role You will manage a varied caseload and be responsible for advising and representing clients across a wide range of employment law issues, including:

• Unfair and wrongful dismissal (including automatic unfair dismissal).
• Constructive dismissal, redundancy, breach of contract, and unlawful deductions.
• Discrimination under the Equality Act 2010.
• Equal pay, whistleblowing, TUPE and corporate support.
• Flexible working and family-friendly rights.
• Drafting contracts of employment, handbooks, and HR policies.
• Advocacy in Employment Tribunal proceedings, including preliminary hearings and judicial mediations.

In addition, you will be expected to contribute to the development of the team, supervise junior lawyers on specific matters, and support the wider strategic objectives of the firm.

The Candidate The successful candidate will be:

• A qualified solicitor (England & Wales) with at least 5 years’ PQE in employment law.
• Experienced in both contentious and non-contentious work, ideally with exposure to trade union matters.
• A confident advocate with strong technical skills and the ability to manage complex cases.
• Commercially aware, with a proven record of meeting fee-earning targets.
• An excellent communicator with strong client-handling skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
• Organised, detail-oriented, and proactive in problem-solving.
• Interested in business development and contributing to the growth of the department.
