Senior Engineer - Component Codes & Standards

Location: Derby, Warrington or Manchester - Hybrid
Salary: £50,600 - £66,465 + up to 12.5% bonus

ARM is recruiting for a Senior Engineer - Component Codes & Standards to join a leading organisation within the nuclear and advanced energy sector, supporting a major Small Modular Reactor (SMR) programme.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer with a background in engineering codes, standards, pressure equipment or nuclear/safety-critical environments.

The Role

You will provide technical leadership and governance around the selection and application of engineering codes and standards for components and mechanical equipment.

A key focus will be supporting the ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code Section III compliance strategy, alongside UK pressure equipment legislation, international regulatory requirements, manufacturing standards and structural integrity.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain policies and guidance for engineering codes and standards.
Provide technical advice on ASME BPVC Section III requirements.
Support UK pressure equipment compliance, including PE(S)R and PSSR.
Work with design, manufacturing, quality and structural integrity teams to resolve compliance issues.
Ensure requirements are flowed down into component specifications, designs and supplier documentation.
Support international regulatory and standards requirements.
Produce technical reports, presentations and briefings for stakeholders.
Influence and coordinate cross-functional teams without direct line management authority.

About You

Engineering degree or equivalent experience.
Strong knowledge of engineering codes and standards.
Experience with mechanical/pressure boundary components.
Working knowledge of ASME BPVC, particularly Section III.
Experience in nuclear, pressure equipment, power generation or another safety-critical environment.
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.Benefits: £2,200 flexible benefits allowance, 28 days' holiday + bank holidays, pension and flexible working.
