Senior Engineer - Highways

Our client is currently seeking a Senior Engineer to join their team on a contract basis.

Key Responsibilities:

Leading the design, planning, and delivery of highways infrastructure and active travel schemes
Providing technical oversight and ensuring compliance with relevant standards
Managing contracts under NEC4 conditions
Engaging with stakeholders to ensure project alignment with community and regulatory expectations
Supervising consultants and contractors to ensure projects are delivered safely
Ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards
Conducting regular site visits and inspections
Preparing and presenting project reports and updates to clients and stakeholders

Job Requirements:

Experience in highways engineering or a related field
Strong knowledge of highway design principles and relevant software
Proficiency in contract management, particularly NEC4
Excellent stakeholder engagement skills
Strong leadership and team supervision abilities
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Excellent communication and report writing skills
Relevant engineering degree or equivalent qualification
