Senior Engineer, Tendering Renewables (Newcastle)

We design and manufacture products that enable the transition to renewable energy – connecting offshore wind farms to the grid and delivering sustainable power to the world. As we expand our Renewables business, we’re looking for a Senior Engineer, Tendering – Renewables to play a key role in our growth and innovation.

The Role

Reporting to the Tendering Manager you will lead the preparation and delivery of technical and commercial bids, ensuring alignment with client requirements, internal standards, and market best practices. You’ll collaborate across departments – including Sales, Engineering, and Cost Estimating – to deliver compelling proposals that reflect our full product and service offering.

You’ll also support and mentor Tendering Engineers, reviewing documentation and helping build capability within the team.

Key Responsibilities

• Review client specifications and documentation to ensure clarity and compliance


• Lead the coordination of all technical, commercial, and support documentation for tenders


• Liaise with clients to clarify requirements and attend customer meetings when necessary


• Support the full tender lifecycle – from budget and firm enquiries to order acceptance


• Ensure content accuracy, consistency, and timely delivery
  Collaborate with internal departments to gather data and technical inputs


• Maintain compliance with internal procedures, design manuals, and governance


• Identify and document project risks, seeking guidance to mitigate where needed


• Support the order handover process, ensuring smooth transition to the project team


• Contribute to the continuous improvement of tendering processes and systems

What you will bring:

Essential:

• Strong background in tendering, proposals, or a technical offshore wind role


• Solid technical and commercial acumen


• Proven ability to manage multiple complex tenders under pressure


• Excellent communication and coordination skills


• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other standard software tools


• Detail-oriented with strong time management

Desirable:

• Knowledge of JDR’s products and services


• Understanding of offshore cable/umbilical systems installation


• Previous experience in the energy or offshore renewables sector

Qualifications:

• HND or Degree in Engineering or related discipline (preferred)


• 2+ years of industry experience (preferred)
