You will take ownership of high-priority projects that drive the design and development of intricate electronic subsystems from early concept through to full production. This role provides a clear professional development path towards Delivery Lead and Sector Lead, allowing you to manage expanding project portfolios and lead larger project management teams. You will enjoy an autonomous working environment supported by dedicated project controllers and have the opportunity to mentor junior coordinators across your portfolio.
Key responsibilities
Lead the end-to-end delivery of highly complex and priority defence manufacturing projects to time, cost and quality standards Drive the engineering design and development phases of advanced electronic subsystems into full manufacturing production Formulate and execute delivery strategies as a senior member of the project management team Mentor and guide engineering project coordinators to build capability across the project portfolio Collaborate closely with project controllers utilising P6 scheduling tools to maintain program momentum Essential requirements
British nationality and eligibility to achieve UK Security Clearance Extensive background in the engineering development of electronics units Practical experience leading significant programmes on time and to budget Comprehensive knowledge of project management lifecycle methodology from inception to close Proven capability in managing risk, stakeholders, compliance and configuration Skills and background
Strong understanding of project management best practice including earned value management Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams Highly organised approach with a meticulous eye for detail in complex engineering environments Background in steering engineering teams through diverse project lifecycles Passion for delivering high-quality engineering outcomes in structured environments Salary and rewards
Base salary up to £65,000 DOE Benefits

This position is based in Hertfordshire and operates on a hybrid working pattern, offering the flexibility to balance remote work with on-site collaboration two to three days a week.
