Senior Engineering Team Lead

The Role…

We are seeking an accomplished Engineering Leader to spearhead our Data Platform organisation. This is a strategic appointment for a visionary who will architect the future of our data ecosystem. We believe that a world-class engineering culture is built upon the abstraction of operational complexity; therefore, your mandate will be to transform our data into a seamless, self-service engine that serves as a primary differentiator for Dojo. 

In this role, you will guide a high-autonomy team dedicated to engineering the foundational platforms that power our most critical domains: Data, Machine Learning, Experimentation, and AI in Data. You will be responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of these platforms, ensuring they are not only cost-efficient and highly available but also intuitively designed to reduce the cognitive load on our product engineering teams. By adopting a product mindset toward internal infrastructure, you will empower the broader organisation to innovate at scale, removing systemic friction through sophisticated platforms and robust architectural standards.

• Champion the Data platform by deeply understanding our users' pain points and prioritising solutions that make working with data easy.


• Design and maintain our core data platform for a self serve platform that empowers product teams to move fast and operate more efficiently .


• Make key architectural choices and streamline processes to ensure our platform is efficient, secure, and cost-effective.


• Collaborate with stakeholders and engineering teams to translate complex data needs into robust, scalable technical solutions.


• Own the delivery of impactful initiatives, balancing the need for speed with the necessity of reliability and long-term health.

What you will bring…

• A product-first mindset with a relentless focus on solving real problems for people working with and around data.


• Experience overseeing Software engineering teams that work on building distributed scalable platforms with impact and with a focus on leadership and growth.


• Deep technical understanding of cloud-native infrastructure, specifically Kubernetes, Identity and Access Management (IAM), Cloud (GCP or AWS) and managed databases.


• Deep technical understanding around distributed systems, different compute engines, LakeHouse management, orchestration tools like Airflow would be an advantage.


• Proficiency in designing and maintaining Continuous Integration and


• Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and GitOps workflows.


• Pragmatic decision-making skills, balancing trade-offs between urgency, complexity, and scalability.


• Proven experience with the modern Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) for data, with hands-on software engineering expertise building large scale data platforms.
