Job Description - Senior ESS Key Account Manager - UK
We are looking for a Senior Key Account Manager to lead strategic client relationships and drive utility-scale sales within the UK energy sector. This hybrid role requires a high-performing individual with experience managing large utility clients, engaging with stakeholders at all levels—including C-suite—and a strong track record in consultative selling and team leadership. As Senior KAM, you will:
Manage and expand relationships with major utility clients in the UK.
Own the commercial strategy and sales lifecycle from lead generation through to post-sales engagement.
Serve as the central point of coordination across internal and client stakeholders, including technical, legal, commercial, and executive teams.
Lead or mentor others in the sales team where appropriate.
Represent the company at high-profile industry events, mainly in the UK and Ireland (limited international travel required).
Proven experience as a Sales Manager, preferably in the energy sector, renewables, storage (ESS), or grid infrastructure.
Demonstrated ability to manage complex B2B sales cycles, preferably with utility or grid operators.
Skilled in interfacing with relevant stakeholders, including CXO-level decision makers.
Experience in leading or mentoring others in a commercial or client-facing environment.
Strong strategic thinking with hands-on execution ability.
Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
Strong organizational and reporting abilities.
Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a related field.
Key Requirements
In-office presence required min. 3 days/week in Milton Keynes.
English Fluency. Other languages an advantage.
Responsibilities
Manage and grow strategic utility accounts in the UK, acting as the primary commercial contact.
Lead commercial and contractual negotiations for large-scale energy projects.
Drive account planning and execution aligned with business and revenue goals.
Share key market and client insights to support product and service strategy.
Mentor team members and maintain clear communication with senior management.
