Senior Estimator

Job description:

Proactive Personnel are recruiting for an established and growing steel and aluminium fabrication business working across architectural metalwork, structural steelwork, sheet metal fabrication and bespoke fabricated products.

In the role you will manage enquiries from initial review through to quotation and, where required, customer presentation and order handover.

Typical responsibilities will include:
- Reviewing drawings, specifications and customer enquiries.
- Preparing accurate estimates for architectural metalwork, sheet metalwork and general fabrication.
- Producing material and labour take-offs.
- Obtaining and assessing supplier and subcontractor quotations. - Identifying fabrication methods, bought-out items, finishes, installation requirements and other project costs.
- Carrying out site surveys and taking accurate site dimensions.
- Meeting customers to discuss requirements and develop practical, commercially viable solutions.
- Presenting quotations and proposals confidently to customers.
- Working alongside the Managing Director and sales team on larger or more technical opportunities.
- Identifying value-engineering opportunities where appropriate.
- Liaising with our technical and production teams to ensure quoted projects can be efficiently manufactured and installed.
- Providing a clear handover once an order is secured.
- Maintaining accurate estimating and quotation records.

To apply you require experience across several of the following:
- Architectural metalwork
- Staircases and balustrades
- Structural and secondary steelwork
- Sheet metal fabrication
- Mild steel, stainless steel and aluminium
- Laser-cut and folded components
- Fabricated frames and assemblies
- Site installation You should be comfortable reading engineering and architectural drawings and be able to turn relatively early

08:00 - 16:30 (Mon - Fri)
