Senior eTrading Developer - Rates

We are seeking a seasoned, high-caliber Senior e-Trading Java Developer to join the UI & Electronic Trading team. You will contribute directly to a strategic multi-year greenfield build-out and modernization of our core Rates electronic trading platform.

The position offers a dynamic working environment embedded closely with global trading desks. The ideal candidate brings extensive buy-side or top-tier investment banking experience in Rates e-trading, deep low-latency Java expertise, and strong business-facing capabilities to elicit requirements directly from traders.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

Core Platform Build: Design, develop, and optimize greenfield components of the Rates electronic trading platform architecture.

Trader Engagement: Collaborate directly with Rates traders to elicit business requirements, model complex trading workflows (RFQ, Algos), and translate them into robust technical solutions.

Low-Latency Engineering: Write highly efficient, latency-sensitive Java applications operating within millisecond to microsecond execution bounds.

Global Collaboration: Partner with distributed cross-functional engineering teams across international locations.

Full Lifecycle Delivery: Contribute to architectural discussions, code reviews, deployment pipelines, and post-implementation support for critical trading technology.

Technical Requirements & Stack

Primary Language: Expert-level Java with solid mastery of Spring / Spring Boot frameworks.

Architecture & Infrastructure: Hands-on experience with Containers and Kubernetes deployment environments.

Database & Data Management: Proficiency with high-performance time-series databases, ideally KDB+ or similar high-throughput DB technologies.

Trading Domain Knowledge: In-depth technical grasp of Request for Quote (RFQ) mechanisms, algorithmic execution, and electronic trading protocols (FIX, market connectivit
