Job Description - Senior Event Delivery Manager (MAT cover)

Informa Connect organises major branded annual events and operates specialist digital communities that are key convening places for a particular market. We run around 800 events each year in over 60 countries, create digital platforms based on engaging news and information content, and operate professional development programs for individuals and businesses in Global Finance, Life Sciences, and Pharma and in a number of other specialist markets.

Job Description

Reporting into the Head of Delivery, the Senior Delivery Manager will be responsible for the delivery of our larger scale or complex events, hybrid and on demand experiences.
You will be required to travel to events to lead and manage the day-to-day tasks of the team, efficiently and effectively.
Success will be aligned to the delivery of high quality, cost-effective and sustainable event experiences to agreed KPI’s and achieving ongoing product improvement reflected in customer satisfaction and NPS scores.
The role would be working with the Global Finance UK delivery team, that manage 30+ events per annum with an annual revenue of £60+ million, working on an aggregated cost budget of over £19+ million.
The conferences and exhibitions range in size, with the flagship event over 4,000+ attendees and 300+ sponsors to smaller awards shows and traditional conferences.
Responsibilities Delivery (50%)
Personally lead & deliver an agreed number of larger scale or complex physical & hybrid events per year
Follow the end-to-end process guidelines to ensure tasks are completed on time and to budget.
Troubleshoots any problems on the day keeping stakeholders up to date throughout.
Continually review processes and practice to identify obsolete workflows and tools with little customer value or ROI and feedback to the Head of Delivery.
Working in partnership with digital delivery teams, vendors, and suppliers to deliver high quality hybrid events.
Collaboration/Best Practice (10%)
Regular engagement and feedback with key internal and external stakeholders to build an effective working relationship.
Attend all scheduled meetings with internal stakeholders such as marketing, digital specialists, spex and the wider delivery community.
Follow a customer-first approach that provides efficient, effective and value add service to our vertical and brand teams.
Anticipates individual customer needs and acts proactively and inclusively to ensure these are taken into account and risks are mitigated. Is seen as reliable, works consistently and does not let pressure change attitude or influence decisions.
Leadership (20%)
Manage the onsite delivery where assigned being the go-to person for any problems and linking key stakeholders together for a seamless event experience
Lead by example and embed Connect’s inclusive behaviours into your everyday practices to encourage an inclusive culture across the wider team.
Depending on the structure there may be the opportunity to line manage a regional team of Delivery Coordinators
If applicable - manage, mentor, and develop line reports providing coaching and career opportunities through regular 121s, goal setting and end of year conversations.
Health & Safety, Supplier Partnerships, Legal & Sustainability (10%)
Ensure all events follow the H&S Operating Model and Incident Management Frameworks are followed and adopted.
Champion Connect initiatives, advancing the Faster Forward sustainability agenda (ensuring The Fundamentals are submitted in a timely manner for all events)
Mitigate risk of attrition with key categories of spend (venues, bedroom blocks)
Ensure venues are procured in a timely manner and meet event and budget requirements.
Planning and Budgeting (10%)
Responsible for timely submission of event costs on the forecasting tool
Code invoices and corporate expenses

Qualifications

Experience & Skills
Operational experience in the B2B and / or B2C events industry and an established track record of successfully delivering world class live events and experiences necessary
Exhibition Experience - experience of managing mid to large scale exhibition and conference event logistics
Demonstrable experience of multi-platform delivery of live experiences and working with service providers of both physical and digital event products
A team player with the ability to operate at both strategic and operational levels
High level of commercial and financial awareness – and proven ability to deliver against KPI’s
Proven ability to effectively manage multiple projects and work in a fast-paced environment
Tech savvy and willing to adopt and embrace new technologies
Detail-oriented, excellent written and verbal skills, extremely organized
Understanding of how to use data in decision making
Positive can-do attitude, you relish a challenge and are confident finding solutions to problems
Negotiation and management of high-level supplier contracts and relationships
