Senior Facilities Manager

A high-performing building doesn’t happen by accident. As Senior Facilities Manager, you’ll help turn a technically complex new headquarters into a safe, compliant, resilient and future-ready environment that supports the people using it every day.

You’ll be involved at a pivotal stage, supporting the journey from technical handover and operational readiness through to occupation and business-as-usual. From Hard FM and smart building technology to contractor management, compliance and business continuity, you’ll have the opportunity to influence how the building operates from day one and how it continues to improve.

Your responsibilities as Senior Facilities Manager

Support the Hard FM operating model and maintenance strategy across planned, reactive, statutory and lifecycle maintenance.
Coordinate technical handover and operational readiness, including commissioning, snagging, defects, O&M information, warranties, asset data and PPM schedules.
Help embed smart building technology and digital FM, ensuring systems, dashboards, alerts and operational data translate into effective day-to-day processes.
Support business continuity, emergency response and resilience planning, including exercises, critical asset information and recovery arrangements.
Manage contractor controls, supplier mobilisation, performance monitoring, permits, RAMS, statutory compliance and audit-ready records.
Work across project, technical and supplier teams to identify operational risks, track readiness and support a smooth transition into occupation and BAU operations.

What we’re looking for in a Senior Facilities Manager

Significant facilities management experience within a technically complex or regulated environment, such as laboratories, life sciences, healthcare, research, higher education or comparable critical facilities.
Strong technical knowledge of Hard FM and building services, including M&E, HVAC, BMS, electrical systems, water hygiene, fire and life-safety systems, critical plant and statutory maintenance.
Experience supporting Hard FM contracts, supplier performance, contractor controls, permit-to-work systems, RAMS, compliance assurance and statutory inspections.
Experience of operational readiness and technical handover, including commissioning, Soft Landings, O&M information, asset verification, defects management and phased occupation.
A relevant facilities, engineering or building services qualification or equivalent professional experience, alongside practical knowledge of CAFM/IWMS, asset information, PPM and smart building systems. A recognised health and safety qualification is also required.
