Job Description - Senior Finance Manager

Job DescriptionOur war on bad poos continues!We’re looking for a Finance Manager who is part or fully qualified with an analytical mind to join our team. You will be responsible for building processes from scratch, ownership of all aspects of financial performance & reporting and taking a lead in commercial decision making.This is a leadership role, and we are looking for someone with relevant experience in FMCG who is interested in stepping up to be a leader. Why work for Scrumbles?Scrumbles is a fast-growing pet food start-up that is disrupting the market. Own the annual business plan, quarterly budgeting, and weekly forecasting process.o

Build best-in-class weekly reporting and forecasting that is streamlined and automated, ensuring the team spends time on providing value-added insights and analysis.o

Model, understand, and interpret financial and operational implications of strategic opportunities.Reporting and Compliance:o

Own month-end reporting packs that provide insights and analysis vs. budget and forecast.o

Ensure that eCommerce, product, marketing, and operational KPIs are ingrained within reporting, and the impacts of these on performance are understood by key stakeholders.Stakeholder Management:o

Champion finance and encourage stakeholders to take ownership of their finances while being their right hand to support them. Challenge them on variances and drive actions to mitigate risks.o

Communicate regularly exchanging ideas and best practices with the leadership team.o

Coordinate with external auditors during audits and ensure all compliance issues are addressed promptly.Cost Management:o

Implement and monitor cost reduction and efficiency improvement initiatives across the company.o

Understand the financial impact of promotional activity and the impact on own brand margins. Communicate this to relevant stakeholders to enable better decision-making.Process Improvement:o

Build analytics and BI to drive improvements in insight, reporting, and processes.o

Monitor and identify opportunities within our channel/product mix to lead strategic decisions.Operational Management:o

Line management for outsourced FA ensuring a healthy flow of cash with full ownership over AP & AR, and monitor, resolve, and report on disputes.o

Monitor and manage cash flow to maintain financial stability and support operational needs, including inventory management.We’d love to meet someone who is:·

ACA/ICAS/CIMA/ACCA (or equivalent) fully qualified. Min 1 year PQE experience·

Strong commercial acumen and business awareness·

Comfortable dealing with, influencing and holding internal and external stakeholders to account·

Strong analytical skills and the ability to manipulate and present data to produce meaningful information·

Must have experience in FMCG in a Commercial or Finance role·

Experience with tools such as Google Analytics, Tableau, Power BI, Xero etc·
