Job Description - Senior Finance Manager (Senior Qualified Accountant with European languages)

*We’re looking for a Senior Finance Manager (Senior Qualified Accountant with European languages)* *to join us in Bradford.*

*This is hybrid working – 2 days in the office, 3 days remote.*
*Please note: These roles are specifically for those with additional European languages (predominantly French but also German and Dutch). Other Finance Manager roles are available without this requirement.*
As part of the continued growth of our Management Accounts and Financial Accounts teams at Liberty Shared Services (LSS), as we go through an exciting period of expansion and change, we are looking for additional Senior Finance Managers with additional European languages to lead teams, workstreams and projects across various group and external OpCo brands, here in the UK and across Europe.
As a Senior Finance Manager, you will report to a Management Accounts or Financial Accounts Divisional Director, supporting and working closely with our teams in Bradford and across the wider business, to deliver accurate reporting and analysis to internal and external stakeholders across the Liberty Global Footprint.

*What will you be doing?*
* Within Management Accounts, you will be responsible for Financial Control, Group Financial Planning and Analysis, Commercial Finance, External Auditors, and the wider Accounting Operations team, to support timely decision-making and ensure the accuracy of external reporting.
* Within Financial Accounts, you will be responsible for developing and delivering financial accounting activity, which includes debt, interest, derivatives, and share-based compensation, as well as preparing comprehensive financial reports, ensuring compliance with IFRS and other statutory requirements.
* In both roles, you will also be accountable for managing, developing and mentoring a team of qualified accountants.
* Being an expert on processes within your area, you will liaise with the business to understand changes and strategy and take ownership to amend processes for accurate and timely accounting.
* You will review and present divisional reporting packs for internal stakeholders, meeting required deadlines, and providing ad hoc reporting as needed, whilst improving internal efficiencies and output quality through process enhancements and collaboration with internal and external teams, with a focus on tactical and strategic use of technology for automation and digitization.
*We tend to look for people with:*
* Proven as a Senior Finance Manager, Senior Management Accountant, Senior Financial Accountant, Senior Audit Manager, or similar.
* A professional accountancy qualification (ACA; ACCA; CIMA etc.) with considerable PQE.
* Fluency in additional European languages, including French, German or Dutch.
* Team leadership of Finance Managers and/or qualified accountants.
* Experience working within large complex corporate structures, whilst managing key stakeholder relationships and delivering to deadlines.
* Strong Excel and financial systems skills (e.g. Oracle, Hyperion/HFM).
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* The willingness to occasionally travel overseas to build relationships with colleagues in the various Opcos we support.
