Responsibilities:

• As Senior Finance Officer, you will be the backbone of the financial operations. Your responsibilities will include:
• Supporting budget planning, monitoring, and reporting alongside the Management Accountant
• Managing day-to-day financial activities including payroll, payments, and invoicing
• Overseeing financial compliance and contributing to policy development
• Coordinating resource management including IT systems, office equipment, contracts, and insurance
• Preparing detailed financial reports, projections, and audits
• Conducting bank reconciliations and maintaining accurate financial records through Xero
• Enhancing governance and providing operational support across departments
• Managing outsourced payroll and ensuring accurate processing of related transactions
• Engaging in organisational development initiatives and continuous improvement activities

Key Skills & Qualifications:

• Strong experience in bank reconciliations, accounts payable/receivable, and invoicing
• Proficiency in Xero and Microsoft Office
• Excellent communication, time management, and organisational abilities
• Familiarity with financial regulations and payroll processes
• Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
• Demonstrated flexibility and willingness to support company-wide initiatives
• Experience in education or training sector finance
• Understanding of management accounting and project coordination
• Staff supervision experience and policy development background

Qualifications:

• AAT qualification and part-qualified ACCA, CIMA, ACA, or CIPFA
• Degree-level education desirable
• Willingness to pursue further qualifications
