The Role

We’re looking for a Senior Finance Officer / Accountant to join a leading scientific research facility in Oxford. In this role, you’ll play a key part in ensuring smooth financial operations, working closely with leadership to manage budgets and compliance. You’ll also support the Finance Assistant through mentorship and development.

As Finance Manager, you’ll oversee essential financial functions, including payroll, reviewing expenses, managing recharged costs, and supporting financial reporting. You’ll work with managers across multiple projects, helping to drive financial stability and informed decision-making.

What We’re Looking For

Experience as a Finance Manager / Accountant
Ideally some previous involvement in budget management within an academic or research setting
Any exposure to the scientific industry would be advantageous
Familiarity with Xero accounting software is beneficial but not essential
