  • Reviewing and submitting monthly reports and associated schedules for the Renewables business unit.
  • Overseeing and reviewing monthly IT internal recharges.
  • Managing and controlling monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Submitting figures in the consolidation pack
  • Controlling month-end journal postings, including WIP, prepayments, accruals, and holiday provisions for business units.
  • Ensuring DAS and REN projects and WIP comply with accounting standards related to revenue recognition.
  • Reconciling monthly management accounts.
  • Producing monthly management analytic reports.
  • Managing half-year reviews and year-end statutory audits for the relevant business units.
  • Preparing annual budgets in collaboration with Business Unit Directors for the relevant business units.
  • Ensuring compliance with Group accounting policies and internal controls.
  • Supervising, managing, and mentoring two team members.
  • Providing ad-hoc support to the Finance Director and CFO.

To be considered for this opportunity we would expect candidates to be able to demonstrate the below skills and experience:

  • Fully qualified or in the final stages of qualification as an Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
  • Proven experience in a similar role, ideally within a project-driven accounting environment (e.g., T&M, FP, hardware/software sales).
  • Familiarity with Sage 50 is advantageous but not essential.
  • Strong and effective communication skills.
  • Adaptability and comfort in dynamic, changing environments.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Solid IT skills, including advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and forward-thinking abilities.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and mentoring a finance team.

At Sword, our core values and culture are based on caring about our people, investing in training and career development, and building inclusive teams where we are all encouraged to contribute to achieve success. We offer comprehensive benefits designed to support your professional development and enhance your overall quality of life.  In addition to a Competitive Salary, here's what you can expect as part of our benefits package:

  • Flexible working: Flexible work arrangements to support your work-life balance.  We can’t promise to always be able to meet every request, however, are keen to discuss your individual preferences to make it work where we can.
  • A Fantastic Benefits Package: This includes generous annual leave allowance, enhanced family friendly benefits, pension scheme, access to private health, well-being, and insurance schemes.

At Sword we are dedicated to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace and are proud to be an equal opportunities employer, ensuring that all applicants receive fair and equal consideration for employment, regardless of whether they meet every requirement.
