Senior Financial Accountant - Remote

A purpose led sustainability charity is seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to join a growing and dynamic finance team on a full-time basis. There is opportunity for this role to be fully remote although hybrid working is available if preferred.

The role will report into the Head of Finance - Compliance & Operations to ensure compliance with external entity monthly and annual reporting requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the financial reporting of our entities.
• Lead the preparation of inputs for the UK audit, alongside audits of any other designated entity
• Lead the preparation of the inputs for the preparation of the 990 tax returns by the external tax advisers
• Manage inter-entity transactions ensuring all transactions reconciled monthly
• Accurately capture and report foreign exchange movements across income and expenditure
• Work alongside the IT team to administer SUN, Concur and any other financial related systems
• Support the Head of Finance - Compliance & Operations in ensuring journals and other relevant inputs for financial reporting are correctly done and posted
• Ensure all balance sheet accounts are reconciled on monthly or quarterly basis, as agreed in the finance manual
• Support the finance team in the implementation of new financial systems

Person Specification:

• Qualified Accountant (ICAEW, CIMA, ACCA preferred)
• Strong technical accounting skills for US GAAP and UK SORP
• Experience in an international Not For Profit preferred
• Experience of working internationally, dealing with multiple currencies and foreign exchange exposure.
• Experience in a finance, or audit, role with experience of demanding and competing deadlines while working collaboratively with non-finance colleagues
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work flexibly and embrace change, and to prioritise and re-prioritise multiple tasks as the organisation goes through a period of significant growth
• Experience in using SUN Systems / Infor Q&A and Concur (desirable)
• Strong management skills and able to motivate and lead a team. Experience in people management (desirable)
