Senior Financial Controller - Hedge Fund

The Firm

We are working with a high-performing global hedge fund entering an exciting new growth phase. With a newly appointed Finance Director, the firm is looking for a Senior Financial Controller to play a key role in building a best-in-class finance function. The Role

This is not a “business-as-usual” role — it’s about creating something new . The Senior Financial Controller will work side-by-side with the Finance Director, helping to design and implement processes, controls, and reporting across the corporate entities. You’ll have a hands-on role from day one , with the autonomy to influence how things are done and the opportunity to scale a team over time.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with the Finance Director to build out the finance function , establishing robust systems, policies, and processes.
• Take ownership of corporate accounting (management accounts, tax, audit, and statutory reporting).
• Deliver accurate, insightful management information to the COO, FD, and wider leadership team.
• Support strategic projects such as supporting the implementation of an accounting system

About You

• Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent) with strong post-qualification experience.
• Background in hedge funds, alternatives, or broader asset management.
• Strong grounding in corporate accounting, with a hands-on mindset.
• Thrives in entrepreneurial environments where you can build, improve, and take ownership .
• Strong communicator who enjoys partnering with senior stakeholders.
• Ambition to take on leadership and build a team in the medium term.
