Senior Financial Controller/Director. Growth to CFO role

We have partnered with a boutique hedge fund, who are looking for senior FC/FD as the current CFO is stepping back from the business, although they will stay on to support in an advisory/mentor capacity for a short period. The fund is owner managed set up by high performing portfolio managers from a tier one fund several years ago.

The role is incredibly broad, ownership of statutory and regulatory reporting, running the audit, payroll, overseeing fund and corporate accounting - significant support from outsourced providers with whom you will own the relationship. There is also some family office work for the owner directors.

On occasion there will be a requirement to liaise directly with investors and provide ongoing support to Investor relations colleagues and support the COO

Further responsibilities

• Day-to-day management of finance utilising outsourced help with both the fund and corporate accounting functions.
• Ownership of outsourced payroll and AP functions; books are maintained in Xero.
• Management, statutory, and regulatory reporting for the asset management group, including the ICARA. Banking and liquidity for the asset management group, including relationships, platform management, and FX hedging.
• Manage external audits of corporate and fund entities to deadlines.
• Corporate tax compliance (CT, VAT, PAYE, ERS).
• Oversight of fund accounting and fund tax compliance, working with fund administrators and outsourced fund accounting support as required.
• Support to the COO, CCO and head of investor relations as needed, such as investor due diligence

About you

• You will be an experienced corporate accountant/head of finance/finance director from an asset management firm, ideally small- medium sized and even better if you have been working in an owner managed firm.
• You thrive in a hands on role seamlessly switching from BAU to change and from big ticket issues to resolving small ones.
• You will be an excellent communicator
• a qualified accountant with right to work in the UK without sponsorship

The business tend to be in the office (Mayfair) 5 days a week however flexibility to WFH is available.
