Certain Advantage is looking for a Senior Fire Engineer to support critical infrastructure projects, with hybrid working options available from offices in Glasgow, Reading, or Bristol.

The Role
This is a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Fire Engineer to support a range of defence sector projects through all RIBA stages, contributing to fire strategy, compliance, and design assurance for both individual buildings and large-scale site developments.

Key responsibilities include:

• Advising on building regulation compliance, including layout planning.
• Providing fire engineering input for construction details and design stages.
• Preparing fire strategies for both site-wide and specific building scenarios.
• Engaging in design and compliance workshops.
• Liaising with client fire authorities such as the MoD, DIO, and other site stakeholders.
• Ensuring alignment with all relevant regulatory and internal governance requirements.
• Supporting project delivery within defined time and budget constraints.
• Contributing to tender documentation for new work.

The Individual
We’re looking for candidates who can demonstrate:

• Chartered status or eligibility to work towards chartered status (support available).
• Proven experience delivering fire safety solutions in defence or other highly regulated sectors.
• Familiarity with key fire standards including Defence Infrastructure Fire Standards, NFPA 130, BS 9999, and EN 45545.
• Practical experience with CFD and other fire modelling tools (desirable).
• The motivation to work independently and drive progress on complex projects.
