Senior Fire Safety Advisor

Location: North London  
Rate: £400 per day (Umbrella, Inside IR35)
Contract: Initial 3 months
 
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Fire Safety Advisor to join a North London Local Authority, taking a lead role in delivering its residential fire risk assessment programme.
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified fire safety professional to support building safety compliance across a diverse social housing portfolio, working closely with senior management, contractors and regulatory bodies.
 
Key Responsibilities:
·Lead and coordinate the residential fire risk assessment programme, ensuring assessments are commissioned, completed and validated.
·Undertake and quality assure fire risk assessments across residential properties.
·Monitor compliance with fire safety legislation and oversee remedial actions.
·Provide specialist fire safety advice to senior stakeholders, colleagues and contractors.
·Support fire safety investigations, regulatory engagement and collaborative site visits with the London Fire Brigade.
·Maintain accurate records, analyse compliance data and prepare management reports.
·Drive continuous improvement in fire safety standards and processes.
 
Key Requirements:
·Level 5 or higher qualification in Fire Safety or Fire Engineering.
·Graduate membership or above of a recognised professional body.
·Extensive fire risk assessment experience within social housing and complex residential buildings.
·Strong knowledge of fire safety legislation, British Standards, building construction and fire protection systems.
·Excellent communication, reporting and stakeholder management skills.
·Experience with the Apex asset management system is desirable.
·A current driving licence and vehicle insurance for business use are essential.
