Senior Flood Risk and Drainage Engineer

My client, a sustainably-minded, innovative Multidisciplinary Consultancy is searching for a Senior Flood Risk and Drainage Engineer to join their growing team of expert design engineers, in the scenic, northern Cathedral City of York, North Yorkshire.

Essential Criteria:

• A Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or other relevant discipline
• Extensive experience of working with flood risk and drainage strategies
• Demonstrable experience of producing Flood Risk Assessments (FRAs), and Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS)
• Excellent working knowledge of the relevant Section Agreements (e.g., S104, S106, etc.)
• Knowledge of the relevant software packages, including InfoWorks ICM, TUFLOW, Flood Modeller, InfoDrainage, and others
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience of working closely with a diverse team, providing leadership and mentorship
• Demonstrable experience of developing and managing stakeholder relations

It would also be beneficial for applicants for the role of Senior Flood Risk and Drainage Engineer to have the following:

• Experience of having managed teams or projects
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and other relevant 3D design software
• Good time management skills
• Excellent communication skills

Progressing through your career, you will take on a range of different responsibilities, including the following:

• Leading a team in producing a broad range of projects, developing flood risk and drainage strategies
• Ensuring projects are delivered to the highest of standards, within the given timeframes and designated budgets
• Undertaking the relevant technical analysis using software packages
• Reviewing and approving accurate technical information regarding projects, including calculations, drawings, and models
• Liaising with a range of public and private stakeholders, and managing relationships with them
• Undertaking site meetings and inspections
• Developing and maintaining client relations
• Contributing to projects, adhering to industry standards, designated budgets, and agreed timelines
