Senior Food Technologist (NPD) - Meat Alternatives@Adamo Foods Location : Nottingham

Salary : Up to £40,000, depending on experience Contract : Permanent The company : Adamo Foods is a new food technology company making delicious, healthy and sustainable alternatives to meat whole cuts.
We’re launching Europe's first ultra-realistic steak alternative, made from mycelium.

The role : We are looking for a food technologist to help develop our ground-breaking whole-cut meat alternatives.
This includes work on structuring of products, flavour application and process scale up.
The ideal candidate should have a strong background in food science and technology, have previous experience in developing meat alternatives, be passionate about sustainability, and have a strong entrepreneurial drive.
Key responsibilities:
Develop next generation meat alternatives from mycelium by generating new formulation and process ideas; Existing product development of current products to maintain product superiority; Support key process scale up activities by delivering key experiments at lab and pilot scale; Build and maintain key supplier relationships and test new ingredients solutions; Design QA analysis and experiments, ensuring we comply with food safety regulations; Identify, implement and troubleshoot quality and productivity improvements; Effective lab management (cleaning, stocking, efficiency, process optimisation); Support in programmes for food safety, quality control and decreasing downtime; Assist with other departments and tasks as needed.
Requirements: BSc or MS in Food Science, Food Technology or other related discipline;
3+ years work experience working on NPD, experience in developing meat alternatives a must; A strategic and analytical mind-set, able to find new ways to reach goals; Passion for developing new technologies; Experience developing and using Standard Operating Procedures; Excellent communications skills; Excellent data analysis skills, attention to detail, and record keeping; Self-motivated and able to drive work as part of a hybrid team; Passion for food, the plant-based industry, and sustainability.
