Senior Garment Technologist

This is an exciting opportunity to join a successful fashion brand as a Senior Garment Technologist, working closely with the Production team and warehouse-based Quality Controller. The role is instrumental in ensuring the smooth transition of garments from design to delivery, with a strong focus on quality assurance and technical development across multiple product categories.

Main responsibilities will include:

• Supporting all aspects of garment quality and fit from initial sample to final delivery
• Attending regular fit sessions with buyers, designers, and pattern cutters
• Measuring, documenting and assessing samples throughout the product life cycle
• Advising on garment construction and providing solutions to ensure quality standards are maintained
• Maintaining and updating the production critical path to meet key deadlines
• Preparing fit comments, grading specs and documentation for suppliers, pattern cutters and factories
• Checking production samples and following up on AQL reports
• Overseeing product testing to ensure safety and compliance with all necessary standards
• Interpreting test reports and issuing appropriate wash care label instructions
• Collaborating with QC, internal teams and suppliers to resolve quality concerns

Person specification:

• Minimum 6 years' experience as a womenswear Garment Technologist, ideally with a high-street supplier
• Strong understanding of the supply chain and working to a critical path
• Technical knowledge across multi-product womenswear including knit, jersey, woven, outerwear and soft tailoring
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills with the ability to build effective relationships
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, with strong documentation and organisational skills
