Job Description - Senior Growth Manager (Content & Authority)

Senior Growth Manager (Content and Authority)

Location: Twinkl HQ, Sheffield (flexible hybrid and remote working options available)

Annual Salary: £60k-£70k, dependent on experience

Contract: Permanent, 37.5 hours per week

Line Manager: Will Bond

Recruiter: Charlotte Harris

We’re looking for a strategic leader to drive forward Twinkl’s global Content and Authority growth strategy. You’ll manage three core facets of our organic strategy: demand mapping & meeting, content optimisation and authority growth, each critical to being able to compete to win across our highest-opportunity markets.

Building upon existing approaches, the successful candidate will take the reins of several teams to deliver growth. You will work to achieve objectives spanning domain authority, efficiency and effectiveness of our on-page optimisation work, and delivery of acquisition-aligned production output. You’ll therefore have experience managing and refining a large team to achieve maximum ROI, with evidence of successfully managing the implementation of both on and off-page SEO tactics.

You’ll have an embedded growth mindset, capable of spotting opportunities to drive efficiencies, trial new ideas via experimentation and always connect work to targets - you are driven by your north star objectives in everything you do.

The role requires experience delivering proven organic success across link building, writing and implementing topline strategy and reporting to senior stakeholders. The ideal candidate would therefore have several years of experience managing a large team and reporting on their success.

To achieve your goals, you will work closely with our Head of Organic Growth (Will Bond), Head of Growth Marketing (Rachael Sprague), Category Manager (Hannah Coe), Content Gaps Manager (Rohan Tawde) and more.

Ongoing projects/how you’ll spend your day:

  • Leading strategic teams focused on delivering organic growth across optimisation, curation, content gaps and authority growth; you and your team will have the autonomy to push forward with the projects that will accelerate success across these key areas.
  • Experimenting with new and refined tactics within your team; you’ll be pivotal in the roll-out of A/B tests targeting faster optimisation output, higher quality optimisation output, short tail keyword ranking, faster time to value for resource production and higher success rates of link building outreach.
  • Optimising targets, systems and processes for your team to ensure optimal ways of working for delivering global growth.
  • Reporting on performance for some of Twinkl’s most critical growth processes and tactics to senior stakeholders.
  • Coordinating with the technology teams to refine ways of working via better processes, tooling and training.
  • Leading a team of SEO professionals, ensuring that every member of the team continually develops their skillset across critical areas of Growth Marketing.
  • Ever-refining overarching organic processes, workflows and strategy documents.
  • Meeting with stakeholders across the business to receive and share critical insights.
  • Proven track record of successfully developing and implementing SEO tactics and processes significantly improving organic search performance for online businesses as a result.
  • Experience implementing successful large-scale SEO initiatives, including external link acquisition and content optimisation. You’ll be able to recall tangible results you achieved in previous roles as a result of your activities.
  • Extensive knowledge of SEO best practices, search engine algorithms and ranking strategies, and passion to stay informed of news and trends in SEO and growth marketing - you keep in the loop on the latest changes within the industry.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with other departments to drive growth.
  • Understanding of vital SEO and marketing analytics and research platforms, including Google Analytics, Google Search Console, SEMrush and Ahrefs.

To succeed in the role, you will:

  • Be an exemplary leader, and strive to achieve all of Twinkl’s leadership promises.
  • Report clearly on progress to objectives, improvements to return on investment and justify your strategy accordingly.
  • Deliver maximum efficiency by developing best practices within the team.
  • Be solution-focused, able to calmly and rationally tackle challenges and complex problems as they arise.

As a leader at Twinkl, you will:

  • Recognise that there is no "one size fits all" approach to leadership, taking the time to get to know each team member personally to understand their strengths, interests and ambitions
  • Hold 1:1s regularly with your team to discuss and evaluate performance, collaborating on a roadmap for their development
  • Manage HR processes and administration for your team (eg. contract/salary reviews, holiday requests etc.)
  • Communicate key business messages, owning the narrative on decisions made and ensuring effective feedback

We're interested in anyone who meets one, or a combination of the following:

  • Senior strategic organic experience in a fast-paced environment
  • 4+ years people and leader management experience
  • Has executed on significant organic planning and strategy

If you require a reasonable adjustment to the application/selection process to enable you to demonstrate your ability to perform the job requirements, please include this at the foot of your covering letter. This will help us to understand any modifications we may need to make to support you throughout our selection process.

In return for everything you can bring, we can offer you an exciting role in a fast-growing and dynamic business, with plenty of career opportunities.

Here’s a couple of the things that make Twinkl a great place to be:

  • From day 1 - Westfield Health, 33 annual leave days per year (incl. bank holidays) plus an additional day accrued each year after two years service capped at 38, flexible working policy with opportunities to work from home (hybrid working model or fully remote work with occasional travel to office) and all-access Twinkl subscription
