Senior Health and Safety Advisor

Hyreus is currently recruiting an experienced Senior Health and Safety Advisor for an exciting opportunity based in Swindon, supporting a leading Tier One civil engineering organisation.

The successful candidate will be based primarily within the company’s office environment, providing professional health and safety advice and support across multiple departments. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced safety professional looking to take on a senior position within a major civil engineering environment, working closely with operational, engineering, commercial and management teams.

Responsibilities

Provide professional health and safety advice and guidance across all departments, supporting the development and implementation of effective H&S standards, policies and procedures.

Conduct audits, inspections, risk assessments and compliance reviews, identifying areas for improvement and ensuring appropriate corrective actions are implemented.

*

Support teams with RAMS, safe systems of work, incident investigations and the management of health and safety risks across civil engineering activities.

*

Deliver H&S briefings, training and guidance while promoting a positive safety culture throughout the organisation.

*

Maintain accurate H&S records and documentation, monitor performance and provide reports and recommendations to management.

*

Ensure activities remain compliant with relevant UK health and safety legislation, company procedures and industry best practice.

The Ideal Candidate

*

Experienced Senior Health and Safety Advisor, Safety Officer or H&S professional with a strong background within civil engineering, construction or infrastructure.

*

NEBOSH qualification or equivalent, with strong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation, risk assessment, auditing and compliance.

*

Experience supporting multiple departments and providing practical H&S advice within a large or complex organisation.

*

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage confidently with operational, engineering, commercial and management teams.

*

Organised, proactive and capable of working independently while providing a high level of professional H&S support.

*

Based within a commutable distance of Swindon and comfortable working primarily from an office environment
