3-6 Month Contract | Remote | Outside IR35 | £35-£45 per hour
 
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Highway Technician to join a busy highways design consultancy on an initial 3-6-month initial contract with a longer-term opportunity available.
 
This is a fully remote opportunity, although the client is based in London and occasional office attendance may be required if needed. The client is open to both full-time and part-time contractors for the right individual.
 
The role will focus on the delivery of Section 278 highway schemes, supporting the design team by producing high-quality technical drawings and detailed highway designs.
 
Key Responsibilities
 
·Produce detailed highway design drawings for Section 278 schemes.
·Prepare General Arrangements, junction layouts, highway alterations and construction drawings.
·Develop designs using AutoCAD, with Civil 3D used where appropriate.
·Assist with the production of drainage layouts, levels, alignments and cross sections.
·Work closely with engineers and project teams to deliver high-quality design packages.
·Ensure drawings comply with relevant highway standards and client requirements.
·Amend and update drawings throughout the design process.

Requirements
 
·Previous experience working on Section 278 highway schemes.
·Strong AutoCAD experience is essential.
·Experience using Civil 3D is highly desirable.
·Experience producing detailed highway design and construction drawings.
·Good understanding of highway design standards, including DMRB and Manual for Streets.
·Ability to work independently within a remote environment.
