About your team

You will be part of the Group Functions HR team who act as strategic HR business partners to the business groups within the Group Functions (HR, Corporate Communications, Finance and General Counsel - Legal, Compliance, Risk).

The team oversees all aspects of human capital management matters across the group functions, working closely and collaboratively with senior leaders and HR centres of excellence (CoEs) within the organisation - country HRBPs, talent acquisition, talent management and development, compensation and benefits, employee relations and organisation development to ensure enterprise-aligned and future-focused people outcomes.

About your role
 

This role will be aligned to supporting the Chief People Office (CPO), which consists of HR4HR and Corporate Communications with a strong ER focus stretching across the organisation.

The Senior HR Business Partner will act as a trusted strategic advisor to senior leaders within the CPO to deliver organisational, talent and leadership outcomes aligned to business strategy. You will work closely with the other Senior HR Business Partners leads and regional HRBPs, as well as CoE teams to shape and deliver innovative and future driven business focused HR initiatives across the Group Functions.

This role will have a strong Employee Relations focus and will be responsible for providing expert guidance on complex employee relations matters, partnering with HR, managers, and Legal to deliver consistent, compliant, and commercially focused outcomes across multiple jurisdictions. Leverages ER insights and data to support organisational change, enhance people management capability, and drive continuous improvement in ER processes, policies, and practices.

  • Employee Relations
    • Independently lead and advise on complex employee relations issues including matters with regulatory, reputational or legal risk.
    • Act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders to ensure issues are dealt with in a timely manner in line with legal and internal frameworks.
    • Contribute to and lead the HR components of change management and restructuring initiatives, which may include planning, design and implementation of OD changes as well as consultation with groups and individuals.
    • In conjunction with policy lead, drive consistency and continuous improvement of ER policies, processes and practices across the organisation.
    • Identify ER capability gaps and support the development of managers and the HR team through upskilling, coaching, guidance and training.
    • Lead or contribute to ER-related projects, including process improvement, automation, and operational excellence initiatives across the organisation.
       
  • Organisational Development - work with leaders and managers to gain insights into opportunities for people and structural efficiencies and to shape organisation design activities including role clarity, spans and layers, and operating model evolution.
  • Resourcing and Talent Strategy - work with the Talent Acquisition team to ensure recruitment strategies align to future capability needs. Partner with Talent Development to shape targeted interventions for senior leaders, succession plans and high-potential populations to ensure future readiness.
  • Performance, Reward and Recognition - In partnership with Reward, advise senior leaders on performance differentiation, pay outcomes and market positioning, ensuring robust governance and risk management. Lead senior-level reward discussions, challenging outcomes where required.
  • Insights, Strategy and Solutions - translate the business strategy into people focused initiatives, participating in developing and shaping programs to address business specific needs now and for the future.
  • HR Reports and Projects - Participate as an active member of the HR business partner community to identify and share best practice, driving continuous improvement.
     

About you

You are a seasoned HR Business Partner with the confidence and credibility to influence senior stakeholders and operate independently in a complex, global organisation.

  • Have a strong track record of HR advisory roles and experience working in an international business environment in financial services is desirable
  • Have the ability to gain confidence and trust of others by demonstrating good judgement, authenticity and delivery
  • Experience managing a range of complex employee relations cases and work force change activity overlay by a sound understanding of local employment law risks and commercial mindset
  • Communicate confidently and professionally with employees, managers and senior management
  • Have a customer service focus, positive attitude and are solutions driven
  • Can multi-task with good attention to detail and excellent organisation skills
  • Are a great team player with a strong sense of commitment to all team members at all levels
  • Operate with a growth mindset, striking for operational excellence and taking initiative and ownership for outcomes
  • Work independently and efficiently under pressure to meet deadlines while always maintaining high confidentiality
  • Has a commercial mindset and can take a pragmatic approach to ER related scenarios
  • Are naturally curious and looking to question and challenge processes to drive improvement and innovation
