Job Description

MM Search are delighted to be working with AGS Airports LTD on their new Senior HR Business Partner Opportunity.

Role overview
The role holder is a key member of the AGS Chief of Staff leadership team and is responsible for leading, managing and motivating a team of HR Professionals to deliver the AGS People strategy and initiatives.
Required to provide Human Resources expertise to the HR Business Partners and senior business colleagues and their teams within the group functions.
The individual must have senior leadership experience, knowledge and experience of broad subject matter in Employment Law and a proven track record in a heavily unionised environment.

Principle accountabilities
Human Resources
· As a member of the AGS Senior Leadership Team role model exemplar leadership behaviours at all times
· Responsible for the implementation of key strategic initiatives across the HR function as determined by the Chief of Staff, following approval from the AGS Board and Executive Committee.
· Contribute significantly to the build and delivery of the AGS People plan.
· Driving a continuous focus on enhancing leadership, talent and succession planning within the Group.
· Proactively Manage the ER agenda for the organisation, including building effective partnership working relationships with local and Full Time Officials, where appropriate.
· Undertake directly Business Partnering activities for Corporate Functions; Commercial, Finance, IT,
Supply Chain, Capital.
· Provide regular updates and recommendations to the Chief of Staff and Executive Committee on people matters affecting the AGS Group.
· Support in the design and lead on the implementation of the strategies and policies covering the following Human Resource disciplines:
Ø Employee and Trade Union Relations
Ø Diversity and Equality
Ø Talent and Succession Planning
Ø Learning and Development
· Lead on the delivery of business critical people initiatives, performance, talent management and succession planning.
· Lead and coach HR Direct reports, ensuring they have the necessary skills and aptitude to deliver the AGS People Plan
· Accountable for ensuring robust compliance, limiting of risk and excellence in all HR activities.
· Ensure excellent customer service delivered into the business – alignment, consistency and clear messaging.
· Lead continual proactive innovation across the team and the wider business, promote and encourage everyone to try new ideas, work and succeed together.

Qualifications and experience
The Senior HR Business Partner will require to have/be:
· Experience in commercial HR environments.
· Degree or professional level education (CIPD desirable)
· Experience in managing significant, complex HR projects.
· Excellent communicator at all levels both verbally and in writing.
· Recognised as having credible knowledge and experience within the industry.
· Having a blend of industry and business knowledge is key.
· A proven track record in leadership, employee relations and industrial relations with demonstrable experience in driving improvements and exceeding business targets at a senior level.
· Extensive experience of working at senior management level with strong interpersonal skills capable of building effective relationships with key stakeholders – internal and external.

Framework and boundaries
The role is an integral member of the AGS Chief of Staff leadership team and operates with a high degree of autonomy. It requires the implicit use of personal drive/motivation, initiative and innovation. There is a requirement for the highest level of integrity, strength in programme management, negotiation and problem analysis and a high degree of resilience to achieve highly effective outcomes across a range of measures.

· Senior HR Manager, HR Central Services, Internal Comms Manager
· Senior operational and commercial leaders.

· Senior Trade Union Officials.

· Airport HR Business Partners – Aberdeen, Glasgow and Southampton.
· L&D Manager

Reports to : Chief of Staff
Department : People & Culture
Level : Senior Manager
Days / shifts : 5 days
Hours : 40 hours per week and additional as business requirements dictate
Location / travel : Based in Glasgow, with frequent travel to other UK locations
