Senior IC Design Engineer

Our client, a global semiconductor technology business, are looking for a Senior IC Design Engineer to join their team in Southampton.

Key responsibilities of the Senior IC Design Engineer job in Southampton:

Define and optimise capacitive sensing architectures and acquisition strategies
Develop and verify RTL designs using Verilog and/or SystemVerilog
Develop embedded software for sensing and signal-processing applications
Lead silicon bring-up, debugging and validation activities
Solve complex technical challenges across analogue, digital and firmware domains
Contribute to architecture decisions and system-level design
Collaborate with global engineering teams to develop innovative HMI solutions

Experience required for the Senior IC Design Engineer job in Southampton:

Degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Embedded Systems, Physics or a related discipline
Experience in digital or mixed-signal IC design and development
Strong RTL design experience using Verilog and/or SystemVerilog
Embedded software development experience in C/C++
Good understanding of microcontroller architectures and embedded systems
Experience using Python, MATLAB or similar tools for modelling and data analysis
Strong problem-solving and communication skills
Experience with ARM, PIC or similar MCU platforms desirable
Knowledge of capacitive touch sensing technologies desirable
Exposure to automotive standards such as ISO 26262 or Automotive SPICE advantageous
Familiarity with OLED or micro-LED display technologies beneficial
